West Park Renovation Underway

We are excited to announce the start of the West Park Renovation Project. Work is scheduled to begin on May 4, with anticipated completion in early fall.
This project has gone through multiple rounds of community input and Board review. The finalized plans can be found here. The project includes the following improvements:
- Replacement of the large ballfield with an artificial infield surface (including new dugouts, backstop, and bleachers)
- Replacement of the small ballfield (including new dugouts, backstop, and bleachers)
- Reconstruction of existing racquet courts to include two pickleball courts and two tennis courts
- A small gazebo/shelter
- Bocce ball and shuffleboard courts
- Rain gardens
- Walking path connecting park amenities
- ADA accessibility improvements
- New off-street parking on Cherry Tree Lane
- Drainage improvements
- Removal of invasive plant materials and replacement with native plantings
Construction activities will follow the Village of Glencoe's permitted working hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Please note that visitors to West School and the surrounding area may experience increased traffic during construction hours. The Park District is working closely with the contractor to help minimize disruptions, including coordinating construction traffic to avoid peak school drop-off and pick-up times whenever possible. We appreciate your patience as we make every effort to reduce impacts on daily traffic flow.
The playground will remain open during construction.
